A twin reserve around a 300-year-old lake on the Maharashtra-Madhya Pradesh tiger corridor, with almost no safari pressure.
Navegaon-Nagzira links two older sanctuaries into one reserve in Gondia district, on the corridor tigers use between the Kanha-Pench landscape and Tadoba. Navegaon lake was built by Kolu Patel Kohli around three hundred years ago and is now the centre of a serious birding site with over 200 species and heavy winter waterfowl. Nagzira, which Maruti Chitampalli wrote about extensively, holds the better forest. Both take a fraction of Tadoba's numbers and cost far less.
