Disclaimer

Travelmetry is a research instrument, not a travel agent. This page explains exactly what our numbers are, what they are not, and what stays your responsibility on the ground.

Read this before you book anything on our recommendation

Our scores are computed from data, not from someone who has just been there this week. Roads close, permits change, and weather in the Himalaya turns faster than any dataset updates. Always confirm with a local operator or your stay before you commit.

What our information is

Everything Travelmetry publishes is for general informational purposes. Destination recommendations, vibe matches, crowd calendars, demand readings and budget figures are algorithmically generated from public and licensed data sources. They are a starting point for your own research, not professional travel advice.

Where a page shows live data (air quality, road status, weather), the reading is only as current as the upstream source and can lag reality by hours. We show the source and timestamp so you can judge it. See how the scoring works if you want the method.

Mountain and remote travel risk

A large share of the destinations in our atlas are at altitude or far from a hospital. High-altitude travel carries genuine risk: acute mountain sickness, sudden weather, unlit and unstable roads, no mobile coverage, and medical facilities that may be many hours away.

  • Consult a physician before travelling above roughly 2,500m, especially with a heart or lung condition.
  • Ascend gradually, and treat any headache with confusion or breathlessness as a reason to descend.
  • Check road and permit status the week you travel, not the month you plan.
  • Carry offline maps and tell someone your route when you leave mobile coverage.

A high score on Travelmetry says a place matched your stated preferences. It never says the place is safe for you on the day you go.

Third-party services and links

We link to external booking platforms, hotels, tour operators and transport providers. Those are separate businesses. We are not responsible for:

  • The accuracy, quality or safety of any third-party service
  • Transactions you complete on an external platform
  • The content or business practices of anyone we link to
  • Pricing differences or availability shown on their site versus ours
  • Disputes between you and a third-party provider

Verify credentials, read recent reviews, and pay through a method you can dispute when you book with anyone other than us.

No endorsement

An advertisement, affiliate link or partner listing on Travelmetry is not an endorsement, recommendation or guarantee. We do not independently verify the credentials, insurance or quality of the businesses that appear through those channels.

Affiliate relationships

We earn a commission on some bookings made through partner links. This is how a free product stays free. It costs you nothing extra.

Commission never influences scoring or ranking. Our recommendations are computed from destination data before any commercial relationship is considered, and a partner cannot buy a higher position in results.

Payments

Where Travelmetry processes a payment directly (Plus, unlocks, or an activity booking):

  • Payments are handled by a PCI-compliant third-party processor
  • We never store complete card details on our systems
  • Refund terms are set out in our Refund Policy
  • Currency conversion fees, if any, are charged by your bank and not by us
  • You are responsible for charges incurred under your account

We are not liable for payment-processor errors or for disputes you raise directly with your bank or card issuer.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Travelmetry disclaims liability for any loss arising from use of this service, including personal injury, property damage, financial loss, missed travel or any other harm. You use the service, and travel on the strength of it, at your own risk.

Nothing here limits any right you have under applicable consumer law that cannot lawfully be excluded.
