It works from roughly October to February and it needs commitment: you leave Paderu in the dark and walk the last stretch uphill through forest to be in place before the light. There is no infrastructure at the top. Coffee and pepper smallholdings cover the slopes below, and the surrounding country is Bagata, Konda Dora and Valmiki.
